TROUBLESHOOTING

If you are running the Linux installer, you may see lots of "Could not set mode" errors from Log4J which may or may not lead to a "too many files" open Error. Currently looking for a solution...

Webstart may not work on some Windows platforms. I recommend using the Java 1.4.2_06 version of web start for the time being. Chinook has been successfully run on web start in Fedora Core, Max OSx, and Windows XP. Currently looking for a good solution...

To download Chinook via CVS, follow these instructions

Access the source code repository for this project in the following way:

  • Check out source code with a CVS client. For example:

    cvs -d :pserver:guest@cvs.dev.java.net:/cvs login

    followed by

    cvs -d :pserver:guest@cvs.dev.java.net:/cvs checkout chinook

  • NOTE: I have been told that the guest acct is currently having troubles but you can get the source if you register for own java.net acct

TARBALLS

All tarballs are Java 1.4.2 tested and compiled, Java 1.5 compiled
